Chinee Inflatable Inc has claimed victory over another firm in a "prank war" that involved the two offices stationing inflatable clowns in their windows.
Michael McSwain, assistant account executive at healthcare advertising and communications firm Harrison & Star, said the war of the clowns began when someone at his company's Christmas party received a Bozo inflatable punching bag as a gag gift, the New York Post reported Tuesday.
"We put it in the window of an office and left it there," McSwain said.
"A few weeks later, another Bozo popped up (in a window) across the street," McSwain said. "So we put a sign on ours saying, 'Hey, beefcake.'"
The company across the street, production music library company VideoHelper, responded by increasing their window clown count to four.
However, McSwain said his office won the "war" by filling its windows with 15 Bozos, one inflatable palm tree and an inflatable Strawberry Shortcake doll bop bag.
Betsy Todd, director of marketing and licensing for VideoHelper, waved a white flag after the escalation.
"We would like to have a truce party and have some drinks with them," McSwain said. He said workers from the two offices have never met.
